Utsch's marina, Cape May, New Jersey

Woke up to clouds, looked like it could rain, but never did more than sprinkle. Had a visit this morning from Richard Nick, Harbor Host here in Cape May. He and his wife have a condo overlooking the Cape May Canal, so they can watch boats entering Cape May. He checks marinas for any loopers and gives out a package with a map of the area plus information on Delaware Bay to New York Harbor. Much appreciated by loopers. Wayne did engine checks and checked fuel lines. We are getting ready for the big run in the Atlantic up to New York; tomorrow as far as Atlantic City.  We went for a walk to see some of the town; Cape May has a Victorian heritage, with many beautifully maintained houses throughout the city. The beach is part of the New Jersey shore, which has been a popular vacation resort area for many years.
Fishing boat returning after a day on the sea; the flags hanging on the boat indicate their catch today, a different flag for each type of fish. If the flag is hanging upside down, then they caught the fish and threw it back.
Sport fishing boats in the marina; this is the second largest sport fishing area on the east coast.
Our Harbor hosts, Richard and Carol; they plan to start the loop next Monday in their boat Salt 'n Sand. We wish them safe travels. May they always run into people as friendly and helpful as themselves.
This afternoon, Richard picked us up and took us all to their condo for cocktails, then we went out to dinner at the Lobster House, a popular seafood restaurant near our marina.
An octagonal house, circa 1830
We plan to get an early start tomorrow.
