Utsch's Marina, Cape May, New Jersey

The Ship John Shoal light

Docks at Delaware City Marina
Left Delaware City this morning after filling with fuel. Delayed our departure until we could have  a better chance of catching a favourable current going down the Delaware River into Delaware Bay, so left at about 1030, much later than usual. The day was beautiful, with sunny skies, light breezes, and calm seas, so a very nice run. Few crab pots in the water, occasional chunks of wood. At one point I thought I saw some floating pieces of wood, turned out it was a few turtles swimming along one after another. We saw dolphins today, first time in a long time. Got into Cape May canal late afternoon, through the canal and into the marina here. Seemed like a long day, but only because we started so late. Went our for dinner in Cape May with Jim and Gloria. We plan to stay here to explore tomorrow, hope to leave the next day.
