We left Yorktown under sunny skies this morning, calm seas. We were about 12 miles up the York River, so went back out to the Chesapeake. By the time we got onto the Bay, it was somewhat cloudy and our calm seas had become sloppy, not really terribly rough, but not fun either. The waves were on our stern/stern quarter and they just weren't fun. It seemed to be a long ride up to the Rappahannock River. We did get here safely just after lunch. Nice marina, good help at the docks. Borrowed bikes from the marina and rode intot he small town of Deltaville. The town was hit by the tornadoes that went across the US in April. They told us here at the marina that there was damage but no one was hurt. We saw some of the damage when we rode into town, houses with the roof askew, trees felled, a church badly damaged.
Back at the marina, several loopers had a get-together for cocktails. We met several who started in Florida and South Carolina, people we had not met before so that was fun. Cool this evening. We plan to stay here at least one day, perhaps more.

Half of the house looks pretty good, tornado seems to have gotten the other half |
