Naples Boat Club, Naples, Florida

We travelled down to Naples today, almost a perfect travel day. Warm and sunny, light breeze. The Gulf was nice and calm. When we left Fort Myers, we were at the end of the Gulf Intra-coastal waterway, so our travels from there on to Marathon in the Keys will be out in the Gulf of Mexico. Seemed slow at first because most of the trip out the Calasahoothie River is in a no wake zone because of the Manetee. However, there seemed to be several people who were unable to read the signs; we felt quite sorry for those illiterate Floridians.
Amazing as we travelled south in the Gulf that we still saw many crab pots, we had to be on the alert for them all day.  Travelled off and on with dolphins again today, we love watching them. Arrived here just before 3, met lots of boats just heading out. This is a beautiful spot, it is a private boat club, and all of the slips are privately owned. You can only come here if the owner of a slip is out and wants to rent it. We walked downtown, lots of shops and restaurants, lots of poeple out and about. Came back to the boat for dinner. I had purchased some fresh shrimp at the Farmers Market yesterday, experimented with cooking them tonight. They turned out quite well. We plan to stay here for a day, perhaps 2 depending on the weather.
We could see this boat's sails from a long way off
