Grafton, Illinois
Spent a rest day at Grafton; cleaned the boat, did laundry, etc. Went out for lunch with Nancy and Eddie to a small place overlooking the water, nice to sit in the sun and watch the boats traffic go by. The current just outside the marina is quite quick, as the Mississippi and Illinois rivers merge. Lots of debris floating by, we saw several logs and huge trees, even a couple of barrels. Tonight several of the loopers staying here went up to Aeries, which is a restaurant and wine place way up on a hill overlooking the town and the river. We had wine and appetizers, then came back here to eat on our own boats. The view from the patio of that place was fantastic. We could see way up the Illinois and way down the Mississippi; watched the sunset in a beautiful clear sky. Plan to head on down the Mississippi tomorrow. Should be another warm day, the forecast is for 80 degrees, much better than the days with frost on the deck.
