We have decided to start blog entries again as we begin a trip around a small loop for us, from our marina on the St. Lawrence River, to Montreal, up the Ottawa River to Ottawa, down the Rideau canal, and back home to Crysler Park Marina. Our friends, Nancy and Eddie Hamilton have come from Florida to travel with us. We travelled many miles with them on the Great Loop, and are so happy to boat with them again. They have sold Dream Fever and now live in a house, so have come by car to spend some time with us on our boat.

Met a freighter as we approached Eisenhower lock |

The view from inside the lock, before we were lowered 40 ft. The view from the bottom was very different. |
We left Crysler Park Marina about 2:30 today (slight delay because a beloved uncle had died and left only after attending the funeral). Went through Eisenhower and Snell locks with about 3/4 hour delay. Arrived at Marina 200 in Cornwall at about 7 pm, cooked dinner then ran up to the nearby shopping mall for a few things we still needed. Feels good to all of us to be on the water again. Beautiful day to travel, warm and sunny, clouds passed over and small shower while we were in the Eisenhower lock, but it didn't last. Great evening. We hope to move on to St. Anne de Bellevue tomorrow.
Glad to see you're back on the water...have a wonderful time. I truly hope we see you along the way.
ReplyDeletethanks Susie, we too hope to run into you (not literally). We would love to hear all about your adventures.
