Penetanguishine

We are still in Penetanguishine; started out this morning, got about 20 minutes out, and the port engine quit again. So far, we have tightened lines, changed fittings and connections, changed filters, and had the injection pump re-done. The mechanic changed a filter again, thinking it might be the problem, and went out with us for a water test; all seemed well. By the time all was finished, it was getting later in the afternoon, so we decided to stay here another day and head out in the morning. Walked into Penetanguishine for pizza for supper.

  1. did you try to run the engine out of a bucket of clean fuel? This would eleminate the filter and tank fittings. this engine i think has a pickup pump to deliever fuel to the injection pump. all you need is a hose to fit the pickup pump if it has one, or a hose to the injector pump. If it won't run on the bucket of fuel it must be your pump.

  2. Good thought. If our difficulties continue, we'll try that. So far, after changing the fuel filter on the engine for the 2nd time, we have run for 4 1/2 hours with no problem. We'll see what tomorrow brings.
